Discover the secrets to a more joyful and resilient life!

We are living in an extraordinary moment in history, a moment that is changing everything about how we live our lives. It is a planet-wide event that is forcing us as human beings to adapt and evolve, all while recognizing we are all in this together. This tiny virus sees us all the same and it does not discriminate. Maybe that is the lesson it is here to teach us. We are not different from each other, and there is no us vs them. We are learning to connect in unique ways while lovingly keeping our distance to protect the most vulnerable among us. As John Lennon said "Life is what happens while we are busy making other plans." We have all used "busy" to avoid: we avoid feeling, we avoid connecting, we avoid our pain, and most importantly, we avoid ourselves. This moment is allowing us to stop and to face all that we have avoided. It is a hard lesson to learn, but we have no other choice. Now we have this moment to reconnect with the things that really matter. Yes, it is stressful and frightening. We mourn for the losses we are experiencing at every level. But there are also opportunities to take this moment to just be with our families and loved ones. We can practice gratitude for what we have while developing perspective on how our lives are changing. The challenge is that, when all said and done, I hope that we don’t go back to business as usual. I hope that we refuse to spend all our time working ourselves to death at the expense of our health and our families. I hope that we put our need for rest, creativity, and connection back into our lives and choose to live more simply. How will you take this moment to evolve? Don't lose this opportunity in fear and worry. The trees still bloom, the birds still sing, and the sun still rises in the east everyday. We will survive this. The question is, will we allow it to change us for the better?
